Old Lands, Monmouthshire
Friday 3rd - Monday 6th May 2019

The first retreat of 2019 will be an intimate gathering for 10 guests, taking place over the bank holiday weekend of 3rd-6th May at beautiful Old Lands on the Dingestow estate in Monmouthshire. Jack and I visited this magical place for the first time last year and it very quickly captured our hearts with its cosy cottages, beautiful walled garden, tiny produce shop, and seemingly endless space to roam and explore.

Focused on the theme of growing - in terms of both the natural world and our inner selves - the weekend will include sessions on self care and gratitude, as well as creative workshops designed to celebrate the beauty of spring. Combined with delicious homemade seasonal meals, plenty of free time to soak up the Welsh landscape and a tranquil environment in which to rest and relax, it's going to be a beautifully nourishing few days.

What's included

  • Three nights' accommodation in a cosy cottage bedroom, either private or shared.
  • Freedom to explore the 80 acre Old Lands estate - which features a walled garden,

  • All workshops and activities, detailed below.
  • All meals, homemade with seasonal ingredients.

As mentioned on the booking form, if you’re planning to attend the retreat with a friend then you are more than welcome to specify that you would like to be placed in the same accommodation. As far as possible, all friends will be kept together.

The closest train station for the retreat is Abergavenny, which is roughly 15 minutes from Old Lands by car. If you will be travelling by train and would like to see if it would be possible to share a taxi with other guests, please mention this when finalising your booking with Maddy.

All food during the retreat will be vegetarian, and vegan options will also be available. Gluten intolerances can also be catered for. Although meals for those with special dietary requirements will be prepared with the highest level of care, please note it cannot be guaranteed that any dish will be 100% free from allergens. If you have any specific concerns, please get in touch to discuss your needs before booking.

If you would like to join in with Sarah's book club on Friday evening, you will need to have read Notes on a Nervous Planet by Matt Haig before the retreat. It's relatively inexpensive online, but if you'd rather not make a purchase then it may be worth checking your local library or seeing if you know anyone who could lend you a copy. It's also available as an audio book!
