A Slow Adventure | Autumn Retreat 2018

Wriggly Tin Shepherd’s Huts
Friday 28th - Sunday 30th September

Hidden amongst the trees in a quiet corner of the South Downs national park, the very first A Slow Adventure retreat will be a place for likeminded women to gather, share stories and build community in a peaceful and positive environment. Together we will welcome the arrival of autumn with a weekend of inspiring slow living workshops set in the tranquil surroundings of Wriggly Tin Shepherd’s Huts, exploring themes of nature and creativity during the day and enjoying crackling campfires and cosy beds by night. In the true spirit of harvest celebration our activities will be fuelled by delicious meals made with locally-sourced produce, the highlight being a very special seasonal feast hosted by our friends at One Supper Club. Sound good? Read on for further information and booking details.

Important Information

Tickets are non-refundable. However, in the event you are unable to attend the retreat, you may transfer your place to a friend. Should this be required, please contact Maddy with the name and details of the new ticket holder.

As mentioned on the booking form, if you’re planning to attend the retreat with a friend then you are more than welcome to specify that you would like to be placed in the same accommodation. You can either book a private hut for double occupancy and share a double bed, or you can opt for two separate bunks in one of the shared huts. As far as possible, we will aim to ensure all friends are kept together.

The closest train station for the retreat is Petersfield, which is accessible by direct trains from London Waterloo (or with one change from Southampton, Winchester or Basingstoke) and is roughly 15 minutes from Wriggly Tin by car. If you will be arriving by train and would like to share a taxi with other guests, please do mention this when finalising your booking with Maddy and we will make the appropriate arrangements. If you are planning to travel by car and would be happy to offer a lift-share, please let us know.

All food during the retreat will be vegetarian, and most will also be vegan. In the case of non-vegan options, a suitable substitute will always be provided. We will also be able to cater for gluten intolerances. Although meals for those with special dietary requirements will be prepared with the highest level of care, please note we cannot guarantee that any dish will be 100% free from allergens due to our kitchen containing wheat, nuts, shellfish etc. If you have any specific concerns, please get in touch to discuss your needs before booking your ticket.

As far as possible, all activities will be held outside so please come prepared for all weathers. In the event of rain, dry inside space will be available but may still be a little chilly! As the huts all have their own woodburning stoves, you will be nice and snug at night.

Guests should be aware that Wriggly Tin is an off-grid site with no electricity. As such, there will be no phone charging opportunities except in the case of emergencies. Mobile reception can also be unreliable, so please make your return travel plans in advance to avoid any potential difficulties with communication.
